Grant Application Requirements (Pre-Event)
AstraZeneca supports Grant for independent bona-fide scientific, medical, or healthcare-related educational activities and/or activities that contribute to the improvement of patient care.
Supportable grant applications must:
- Be submitted at least 45 days prior to the start date or requested decision date.
- Have alignment to AstraZeneca’s core therapeutic areas and sustainability goals that advance patient health, increase access to care, drive science innovation and build resilient communities.
- Provide no tangible benefits to AstraZeneca for support (items with an attached value such as entry tickets, attendance, booth or floor space, prominent print or online corporate logo placement).
- Be unsolicited, not require involvement or be influenced by AstraZeneca in the design or execution of the grant supported activities.
- Be submitted by registered not-for-profit organizations, charities, medical or academic societies, medical associations, universities, hospitals, or foundations.
- Not be to request support for individual healthcare professionals (HCPs), their practices, or clinics.
- Be submitted by registered not-for-profit / charity / medical or academic society or medical association or university or hospital or foundation or established physician organization or be requested by organization working on their behalf.
- Not to be submitted for External Sponsored Research (ESR) or any study involving AstraZeneca products. For more information on ESR refer to: Externally Sponsored Scientific Research - AstraZeneca.
- Note: For Journal Clubs and Rounds Grant Requests:
- AstraZeneca may attend as silent observers if permitted by the organization's request letter.
- Journal clubs and rounds can only be supported if held in appropriate learning settings, such as hospitals, clinics, or academic institutions.
To Submit a Grant Application
You can submit a grant application in CyberGrants for further review and consideration.
To support your application, please provide the complete application details and upload the documentation below:
- A letter of request from a registered not-for-profit or registered charity organization. The letter of request must be on the requesting organization’s letterhead including detail:
- Who: target audience
- What: anticipated impact (what will it accomplish?)
- Where: program location
- When: event dates
- If other companies are also supporting the event/activity/project.
- A complete detailed budget for the program/event (Not just AstraZeneca’s requested amount).
- A robust finalized/draft agenda which includes the objectives/dates/times/location (if applicable).
- For not-for-profit organizations: Provide your latest annual report or your current registered provincial/federal financial statements, along with a list of current directors.

What Happens Next
- You’ll receive an email from ExternalFunding@astrazeneca.com confirming receipt.
- AstraZeneca reviews your application and will contact you if additional information is needed.
- You will be notified by email when your request is approved or not approved.
- Official approval is issued via the CyberGrants system.
- Following approval, you’ll be asked to enter banking details for Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT).
- You’ll receive a letter of agreement to sign.
Reconciliation Requirements (Post-Event)
45 days post the CyberGrants ‘Program End Date’, organizations will receive a CyberGrants email notification to upload documents/materials as proof of completion to satisfy the below Post-Funding principles:
- Demonstrate that the event/initiative took place.
- Demonstrate that the purpose and deliverables of the request were fulfilled.
- Demonstrate that the funds were utilized as agreed upon per the request.
