AstraZeneca Award in Chemistry
RECOGNIZING EXCELLENCE IN CHEMISTRY ACROSS CANADA
About the Award

The AstraZeneca Award in Chemistry was inaugurated in 2003 and is awarded
yearly to recognize recent outstanding contributions by Canadian academic
researchers who have demonstrated distinct potential in organic chemistry by
publishing innovative and influential work. Preference will be given to
candidates with 6 years or less of independent experience. The recipient is
chosen by a committee, consisting of a senior academic advisor and members of
the AstraZeneca R&D Montréal Medicinal Chemistry Department. The award,
sponsored by AstraZeneca Canada Inc., is granted for two years with a value of
$50,000 per year.
This is an unrestricted grant aimed at fostering continued growth and development within the awardee’s research programs and is part of AstraZeneca’s commitment to support excellence in chemistry across Canada.
For more information about the award, please contact us.
A symposium will take place every two years at the AstraZeneca R&D Montréal facilities to honour recent recipients of the award, and will feature presentations from awardees and senior scientific advisors. The symposium is open to members of local universities and will also feature tours of the R&D Montréal facilities.
