What We Do Not Support

The following are descriptions of organizations and/or projects AstraZeneca does NOT support. Should your organization or request fall under one of these categories, you may still apply but it is probable that your request will be declined.

• Advertising in yearbooks, handbooks, journals, event programs or recruitment initiatives that are not a component of a negotiated sponsorship or partnership agreement.
• Advocacy or lobbying for narrow or specific interests.
• Amateur sports including community, regional, provincial and national athletes, teams and organizations.
• Capital campaigns (i.e., fundraising for building “bricks and mortar” or purchasing equipment such as MRIs).
• Endowments, contingency funds or deficit campaigns.
• For-profit organizations (i.e., businesses).
• Unregistered charities (e.g., not-for-profits that do not possess a CCRA charitable business number).
• Individual requests (from health professionals or members of the public) for product donations for use in Canada or internationally (for more information, please see our page on Product Donations).
• Organizations and programs based or operating outside of Canada or whose beneficiaries are outside of Canada.
• Organizations or programs already receiving funding from United Way/Centraide.
• Organizations that discriminate on the basis of race, gender, religion or lifestyle.
• Political projects or programs.
• Private foundations or clubs.
• Private schools or universities.
• Religious or faith-based projects or programs.
• Requests solely for operating or administrative expenses.
• Requests solely for travel, accommodation and/or meal expenses.
• Research grants that qualify under SR+ED credits.
• Service clubs, fraternal organizations or commercial third party fund-raising groups.
• Support for individuals or individual families.
• Support of fund raising or participatory events such as tournaments, auctions, benefits, dinners or other ticket purchases that are not elements of a broader arrangement or partnership.
