We support the giving and volunteer efforts of our employees through our Volunteer Investment Program (VIP). Giving back is a very personal thing, so we’ve designed VIP to support our employees in a variety of different ways. Through gift matching, volunteer grants, team fundraising, and release time for volunteerism, we actively encourage our employees to get involved in their communities. We have also designed a sport sponsorship program to recognize the endless hours our employees spend as coaches, managers or fundraisers for their children’s amateur sports teams.
If you have an AstraZeneca employee volunteering for your organization, please ask them for details on VIP and whether your community group is eligible for VIP support.
VIP is one of the many ways that we can help our employees in their endeavours to give back – it’s our investment in their hard work and commitment.
Community Connection Day
Each year, we host a company-wide volunteer day for our employees. Offered in partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Canada, Community Connection Day provides us with an opportunity to work on community improvement projects and get to know our program partner and the youth they serve a little bit better. In 2011, more than 350 employees participated in 25 communities across Canada.
